About Petersfield
Petersfield is an old established market town which dates back to the early 14th century having been built around a church known as ‘St Peter’s in the field’. Nestling on the northern side of the South Downs it is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty now designated as a National Park. The Heath Pond is a well known local attraction and much used leisure area.
Petersfield is well known for its high standard of schooling and being within the catchment area for some of the highest ranking schools in the country. Other facilities are excellent and cater for a variety of recreational and sporting pastimes.
The Town Centre has extended out of all recognition from the early livestock market days and now includes national retailers such as M&S, Waitrose, Tesco, Boots, WH Smith, Laura Ashley, New Look and many others.
The facilities are excellent and in addition to the schooling include good recreational and sporting facilities. The many pretty villages and hamlets in the surrounding area provide highly desirable residential locations.
