Keats Lettings Smooth the Moving Process for Landlords and Tenants

Keats Lettings Haslemere is raising awareness of its trusted landlord and tenant services following a recent report that puts advice available in the lettings industry under scrutiny. Industry supplier Tenant Shop says that while there is a great deal of guidance and information for property buyers and sellers, there is far less for those in the lettings sector.

 

In a recent report on the LettingAgentToday website Tenant Shop managing director Glenn Seddington commented: "Considering the rapid growth of the private rental sector - which now accounts for approximately 20 per cent of all households and represents the largest housing tenure in London - more needs to be done to make the moving process smoother for landlords and tenants."

 

Here Rita Tinney Director of Keats Sales and Lettings outlines just how her team help tenants and landlords throughout the moving process.

 

Rita commented: “We have always recognised that moving home can be one of the greatest sources of stress but whereas sellers and buyers undergo this around 4 to 5 times in their life, tenants can find themselves moving every year or so.

A good agent will take the time to match an applicant with the right property which doesn’t just mean the right size, the right price and the right timeframe – it means finding a property where the tenant can have the security of knowing they can enjoy a longer term let.

 

“This is a factor which the Government is currently proposing to address through the tighter control of ‘no fault’ evictions and the creation of new style assured tenancies.  It can also benefit the landlord who will also have financial peace of mind knowing they won’t have the risk of a void period or have to pay re-letting costs every year because their property has been let to a tenant who only wants short-term accommodation.

 

“Communication is key as making tenants and landlords aware at each step of the process leads to a considerably easier move for all parties and being available to support a tenant on the first day of their tenancy is so important.
