Keats Encouraged By Local Market Activity

Our team at Keats Estate Agents in Haslemere enjoyed a significant rise in activity in January and early February with a heightened sense of confidence in the housing market following the General Election in December.

The number of buyer registrations with Keats has increased by 200% compared with the figures in November/December 2019 and market appraisal (valuation) appointments have increased by 250% against the same period. This spike in activity demonstrates that both buyers and sellers are keen to locate their new homes in 2020.

While the local property market is more active, the national market is also looking positive. There’s been a significant rise in the number of transactions recorded in January - another sign of an improving housing market according to estate agents and analysts.

There were 102,810 transactions in January, 5.2 per cent higher than in January 2019 and 4.1 per cent higher than December 2019, according to the latest HMRC data.

The figures show that non-seasonally adjusted residential transactions were approximately 12.7 per cent higher than in January 2019.
